ESOCAIN-40 Tablet
Esocain 40 Tablet is used to treat conditions caused by excessive stomach acid, such as gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD), peptic ulcers, and Zollinger-Ellison syndrome. It works by reducing stomach acid production, helping to relieve symptoms and promote healing.
Additionally, Esocain 40 Tablet can be used to prevent stomach ulcers caused by certain medications, like nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs). Follow your doctor's prescribed dosage and treatment duration. It's generally taken on an empty stomach, preferably in the morning or at least one hour before eating. Continue taking the medication until your doctor advises you to stop, even if your symptoms improve. If used long-term, your doctor may monitor your magnesium levels, as this medication can reduce magnesium over time.
Common side effects include headache, constipation or diarrhea, stomach discomfort, and nausea. These are usually mild, but consult your doctor if they persist or become bothersome. The risk of side effects may increase with prolonged use, and long-term use could increase the likelihood of bone fractures. Avoiding foods that trigger symptoms, such as spicy, fatty, or rich foods, may help, and reducing caffeine and alcohol intake can also be beneficial.
Esocain 40 Tablet may not be suitable for everyone. Inform your doctor if you have severe liver issues, are on HIV medications, have had allergic reactions to similar drugs, or have osteoporosis. While alcohol doesn't directly affect how Esocain 40 works, it can increase stomach acid production. This medication can cause dizziness, drowsiness, or affect your vision. If this occurs, avoid driving, operating machinery, or engaging in activities that require alertness. Esocain 40 is typically not recommended during pregnancy or breastfeeding.
