Ondomin Oral Solution is a medication used to treat nausea and vomiting in children. It is commonly given to manage vomiting associated with surgery, chemotherapy, radiotherapy, and stomach or intestinal infections. It can also help alleviate vomiting caused by medications such as painkillers.
Ondomin Oral Solution can be given before or after meals. For nausea caused by chemotherapy, give the medicine to your child 30 minutes before the procedure. For radiotherapy, administer it 1 to 2 hours prior, and for surgery, give it 1 hour before the procedure to help prevent vomiting afterward. If your child vomits within 30 minutes of taking the medicine, stay calm and give the dose again. Do not double the dose if it’s time for the next scheduled dose.
Common temporary side effects may include headache, constipation, diarrhea, and fatigue. These usually go away as your child's body adjusts to the medication. However, if these side effects persist or become bothersome, contact the doctor promptly.
Make sure to inform the doctor about all the medications your child is taking, including painkillers, antibiotics, or any medicines for depression. Also, tell the doctor if your child has a history of liver problems, kidney issues, gastrointestinal blockages, heart conditions, or any allergies to medications, ingredients, or food products.
